The above referenced link will take you to the discussion complete with a cut-and-paste job of the entire listing on Tribe.net subsequent to the aforementioned Craigslist posting. I hate to admit this, but the glory days of Tribe are over (at least IMHO -- please don't hate me for having one)! But the spirit of Tribe -- all that glorious snark and ridonkulousness -- remains.
Basically the CL listing is a cattle call (or what the listing states as "auditions") for a makeover for the ladies of the playa. I love the part where it says "Please forward all stories/descriptions and photos and PHONE NUMBERS" (← emphasis not mine) but then goes on to say "Please, no phone calls about this job!"
It's funny because as some of you may recall, Chai Guy and I started this whole BURNcast thing because we were opposed to a reality television show coming to Burning Man oh so many years ago. But still, Burning Man remains an ever present fascination with the media even if now it's only to make fun of the goddesses of Black Rock City and throw eggs at the Man™!
It's unclear whether this show is actually going to take it to playa but whatev. As the ad states: "Participants are well compensated as well as the makeover candidate receives a full makeover worth several thousands of $$$."
